Jake was one of 100 bands selected in a nationwide talent search to compete in this exclusively online music competition.
The interactive music competition will put viewers exclusively in control of choosing the first Internet superstar band, singing group or solo act - and Grammy winning producer David Foster is going to help decide who gets a development deal with a major record label!

Songwriter's Hall of Fame
What a week with the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.
It all started with the Best of the Songwriter's Hall of Fame New Writers Showcase at the Cutting Room in New York where Jake asked the legendary Hal David if they could write a song together! We'll keep you posted on that one.
The week concluded with a star-studded Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony with amazing performances from Mac Davis, John Mayer, Kris Kristofferson, Stevie Wonder and many more........

NXNE Music & Film Festival!

Back in the U.S. from the U.K. Tour!
Jake & The Velvet Roots returned from their whirlwind tour of the U.K.
Thirteen performances, widespread media coverage and live on-air interviews with BBC radio from London to Liverpool. Highlights from the tour were playing the legendary Cavern Club and opening for blues legend Albert Lee.
Plans are underway to return in October of 2006. Many thanks to the fans that made each show more memorable than the next and deep gratitude to Gelli Graham for making it all possible.

Jake's next release!
“No Vacancy” is hot off the press and will be sold exclusively during the upcoming U.K. tour.
The CD will be released in the U.S. in New York City at the September 14th CD release party at the Red Lion. Jake & The Velvet Roots will be performing tracks off the new CD and the night will be kicked off with special guests Jerry Dugger & Irving Louis Lattin who lent their amazing talents as background vocalists on No Vacancy. The night will be full of surprises and special guests.

Back in the Studio
Jake goes back in to the studio in Brooklyn with producer Nunzio Signore, to start working on his next CD scheduled to be released in the U.K. for the May tour and in the U.S. in the fall of 2006.

Songwriter’s Hall of Fame
“Don’t Know Where I Belong” (track #7), from “Comin’ Back Again”, has been chosen to be on “The Best of the Songwriters Hall of Fame New Writers Showcase” 4th compilation CD. The track was selected from the 72 featured at SHOF's four 2005 showcases. The CD will be distributed at the Annual Gala event in New York City on June 15th.

Solo UK Acoustic Tour
Jake heads out on his first solo acoustic tour of the U.K. The tour was so well received that Jake is planning to return with the band in May of 2006.
